Maintenance of belt dryers is divided into three levels: daily maintenance, periodic maintenance, and maintenance for special operating conditions. Following standard operating procedures can effectively extend the equipment’s service life and ensure stable production. The specific requirements are as follows:

I. Daily Maintenance (Mandatory before and after each shift)

Before startup, inspect valves and piping for leaks, and confirm that the grounding wires for the blower and electrical control cabinet are securely connected.

Check that all instrument readings are normal, and confirm that the machine body shows no abnormal vibration, cracks, or signs of corrosion.

Conduct a test run of the motor to confirm normal operation. Inspect all components and fasteners for looseness, listen for any abnormal noises during operation, and immediately address any faults discovered.

Inspect transmission mechanisms such as V-belts and drive chains to ensure there is no deformation, slack, or wear, and adjust chain tension as needed.

Test the electrical start and stop devices to ensure they operate sensitively, accurately, and reliably; repair or replace damaged components promptly.

After shutdown, use compressed air to clean residual material from the mesh belt and drying chamber to prevent material buildup from corroding the equipment.

II. Periodic Maintenance (to be performed on a progressive schedule)

Weekly Maintenance

Clean residual material and dust from the interior of the equipment; check the unobstructed flow of the heating and ventilation systems; tighten all connections that may be loose to prevent cross-contamination of materials.

Monthly/Quarterly Maintenance

Focus on inspecting the condition of the mesh belt: ensure there is no wear, slack, or misalignment; adjust the tension promptly to correct any misalignment.

Check the lubrication status of all bearings and replenish lubricant; inspect seals for signs of aging and replace them promptly if found to be worn.

Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the motor and electrical control system’s operational status; calibrate measuring instruments; and replace wear-prone parts based on wear conditions.

Annual/Long-Term Major Maintenance

After 5,000 hours of operation, replace the batteries in the PLC and touchscreen; follow the equipment manual for instructions. After 2 years or 10,000 hours of operation, clean the interior of the gearbox, inspect gear wear, and replace damaged parts and lubricating oil.

Conduct a comprehensive inspection of all electrical components to ensure compliance with safety requirements; replace or repair severely worn or malfunctioning parts to fully restore the equipment’s original performance.

III. Maintenance for Long-Term Storage

Completely disconnect the power and air supply; remove all residual materials from inside and outside the equipment; fill the gear reducer with lubricating oil that meets the specified requirements.

Seal the equipment with dust-proof packaging and store it in a well-ventilated, dry environment free from corrosive substances and vibration. Regularly check the humidity of the storage environment; the equipment can be stored stably for up to 3 years.

Before restarting the equipment, conduct a comprehensive performance check to ensure there are no abnormalities before putting it back into service.
